Van Kills Pedestrian In North Hollywood, Flees The Scene

A 55-year-old man was struck and killed by a van in North Hollywood, which then fled the location, authorities said Sunday.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — A 55-year-old man was struck and killed by a van in North Hollywood, which then fled the location, authorities said Sunday.

A dark van was going westbound on Oxnard Street at about 9:45 p.m. Saturday when it struck the pedestrian, who was crossing mid-block southbound on Oxnard east of Farmdale Avenue, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

The van then drove away westbound on Oxnard Street. Paramedics rushed the victim -- a North Hollywood resident -- to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries.

LAPD Valley Traffic Division detectives urged anyone with information regarding the crash to call them at 818-644-8032.
