5 Hospitalized In Ambulance Crash In San Fernando Valley

Five people were hospitalized when an ambulance and an SUV crashed in the San Fernando Valley Sunday night.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Several people were injured when an ambulance en route to a hospital carrying a patent collided with an SUV in the San Fernando Valley Sunday night.

The crash occurred on Woodman Avenue near Cantara Street in Panorama City at around 8 p.m.

A Los Angeles Fire Department ambulance was transporting a 94-year-old male patient, along with an 81-year-old female companion when the crash occurred, according to the LAFD.

"A total of five patents are being transported to local hospitals," the LAFD said.

The 34-year-old male driver of the SUV was transported to a local trauma center in critical condition. Two LAFD personnel who were on the ambulance, along with the patient and his companion, were transported to local hospitals in fair condition with unknown injuries, the LAFD said.
