Assemblyman Gorell Back from Afghanistan, Set to Serve in Sacramento

When Jeff Gorell wrapped up his campaign for the 37th State Assembly District in  November 2010, he already knew he'd be spending half of his two-year term in Afghanistan, .

Gorell is a lieutenent commander in the Naval Reserve where he has served for 12 years. He is an intelligence officer and this was his second one-year deployment. He previously served in Bahrain and Afghanistan from 2001 to 2002.

But , and begin his next campaign for relection.

Gorell, 40, lives in Camarillo and has two young children.

The 37th Assembly District includes Chatsworth, Camarillo, Fillmore, Santa Paula, Ojai, Thousand Oaks, Moorpark, and Simi Valley.
