Authorities ID Valley Teen Killed In Long Beach Crash
The crash happened Monday night in the area of Shoreline Drive and Ocean Boulevard, according to police.
VAN NUYS, CA — A 19-year-old Van Nuys man who was killed Monday night in a crash in Downtown Long Beach that left two others seriously injured has been identified.
The Los Angeles Medical Examiner's Office identified the 19-year-old as Jeremy Hernandez.
Long Beach police say Hernandez was in a 2005 Chevrolet sedan around 10:40 p.m. along northbound Shoreline Drive near Ocean Boulevard when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The vehicle left the roadway, crashed into a tree and overturned, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Hernandez died at the scene, while two others inside the vehicle were taken to local hospitals with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. There were no updates to their condition as of Wednesday afternoon.

Investigators believe the driver of the car may have been speeding before the deadly crash, according to police. Impaired driving may have also been a factor, the LBPD said.
