Chatsworth Equestrians Can Ride to Easter Services at a Canvas Cathedral

Thousands expected to worship in giant Porter Ranch tent.

They were putting the finishing touches on a Canvas Cathedral in Porter Ranch this weekend in preparation for Easter Sunday worship.

The tent covers more than an acre and will seat 9,600 of the faithful -- twice. There will be music-filled nondenominational services at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. led by Shepherd of the Hills Pastor Dudley Rutherford.

With additional seating outdoors at the corner of Rinaldi Street and Porter Ranch Drive, this has been called the largest Easter service in the Valley.

Equestrians from Chatsworth will be able to ride their steeds on the Old Mission Trail all the way to church, where there will be a hitching post and water, just like Pioneer days.
