Chatsworth Man Killed in Head-On Motorcyle Crash

Woman critically injured in Simi Valley accident.

Scott Townsley, a 53-year-old Chatsworth man, was killed in a head-on motorcycle accident when his bike collided with a Honda CRV in Simi Valley. His  49-year-old female passenger, also from Chatsworth, was critically injured.

Townsley died of blunt-force injures when he was thrown off his bike, said Michael Tellez, a Ventura County deputy medical examiner.

The March 7 accident occurred at the intersection of Stearns and Cochran streets in Simi Valley according to The Ventura County Star.

Simi Valley police said the Honda was turning left when the motorcycle collided with it head-on. Townsley was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash and his female passenger suffered major injuries including neck, rib pelvic and head trauma. Her name has not been released.

There was no evidence that drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident, The Star reported.
