Committee Discusses Spending, Plans for Apartment Building

Committee Meeting Highlights - April 9

There were several funding items discussed, subject to motions being made and votes in favor of at the April 26th general meeting.
 
Among the items discussed at the Monday night Committee Meetings were three funding motions.  The first was for a possible contribution to the C.E.M.P., a local volunteer search and rescue unit, active for more than 40 years, which operates out of our area.
 
A second item was for the funding of a bicycle trailer to be raffled of at the Park Parthenia Health Fair.

The third motion was for the funding of additional outreach items (pens, whistles, t-shirts and other small items) was discussed at the meeting.  The committee members are to review various items online and to make their recommendations at the April 26th meeting.
 
Finally there was a presentation of a possible 320+ apartment structure at 19400 Parthenia, the former site of a movie theatre, mixed retail and several restaurants.  This project is only in the initial stages, as a result of a bankruptcy by the previous project owners, and the council will be arranging further meetings between the bank's representatives and the neighboring stakehodlers.  Stay tuned for further announcements on the subject.
