FREEDOM ... Liberation. 'Tis the Season ...

Passover…

Some keywords to remember: Slavery, countries and nations ruled by and dictated by one man … given the power to enslave, free, destroy and kill. These are nations not ruled by a loving God.

There is another kind of slavery: the kind of slavery created by our own thoughts and your/our own left hemisphere brain. Real freedom begins when we can liberate ourselves from the slavery of our own minds. Check where you are blocking your thinking, your words, your beliefs, and the way that you speak. Is your left hemisphere blocked and shutting down the other marvelous liberating parts of your soul and your brain?

Our ancestors in Egypt were capable of freeing themselves from their own thinking and self-bondage. Is it time to move on? Is it time to shift your brain and your thinking to something more liberating/free? The slave master is a dark side archetype that is universal.

The Liberator/Moses etc./God is also an archetype inside every one of us, waiting for us to activate the Liberator. Freedom … Freedom … Peace … Liberation. Once you are free, you are free from yourself and your own bondage.

Our ancient ancestors, the Hebrews, went through enormous suffering/crying, screaming and yelling into the heavens. They were heard and they were freed in their souls. God saw that they were ready. We were ready. Are you ready?

"Free. Free at last. Thank God Almighty. We are free at last."

Freedom. The underdog. Pogroms. The Holocaust. To remain free from slavery and our own mental bondage, we must be strong and vigilant and guard against the murderer and the enslaver. A weak unprotected you/Jew is a tempting target. Make no apologies for defending yourself. Paradoxically, don't remain overly defensive. You can win with the power of love, a few good strategies and a couple of big guns.

One omnipotent, all loving God. Revolutionary idea. "Those crazy Jews and their one God!"

Linear history. Universal education for all men. Now, all women and children. Free from all kinds of enslavement.

Passover…

Transition. It's Time. Move fast. Don't Wait for the bread to rise. Moses - a man with a speech difficulty. Wow!

If he can do it, anybody can do it. "You can do it!" Say it: "I can do it. I can do it."

Zipporah: the mother of Moses traumatized by having to put her little baby Moses in a straw basket and then putting him into a river. Transition. How's that for a future!? As an infant being sentenced to death and then fulfilling a mission that would change the world. Can I get a witness (shout amen). Wow! ... Reluctance... A mountain in exile ... A burning bush that speaks the voice of God. What, are you kidding me!? Moses said, "you talking to me?" Change the world! Are you kidding me!? Yeah, are you kidding me!? "ME?" Change the world!? Yeah. You! Me, change the world? Yeah. You, who can hardly speak. We'll get your brother to talk for you. If Moses can do it, so can I. Go. Go. Go. So can you! Listen to the loving voice of the "Name." Hashem.

Place the blood on the door. Don't wait for the bread to rise. I said, "don't wait!" Get ready to move and move fast into a great unknown. Put faith in a promise made to an ancestor named Abraham, his wife, children and grandchildren. It changed the world forever.

One God!. Are you kidding me!? Stiff neck people, reluctant, questioning, unbelieving, resisting. But ... Miracles do persuade.

To the gods of Egypt: "we are coming for you". A mixed multitude. It was not just the children of Israel who were liberated from false gods in slavery. It was a mixed multitude. Here in this room, there is a mixed multitude. Freedom from the bondage of an enslaved Europe. Free. Chosen. Chosen again and again. AND again and again. Let me hear it. Amen. Louder please. "Free at last. Thank God Almighty! We are free at last!"

You can dance now and celebrate your freedom from bondage and enslavement. You can shout and you can sing. You are freed from bondage and enslavement. It has passed over you. You are free. A loving God has kept his promise to a very mixed multitude, mixed up most of and a lot of the time. But, occasionally (and even quite often) quite capable of seeing the light and the light that is Hashem God. A loving God who has put upon us the blessing and the burden of making this world, this planet a much better place. Amen! Can I get a witness! Just kidding, maybe…

You cried and cried and cried and screamed. Your tears and your pain were heard in the high places and God appointed and sent you a messenger. You listened and you obeyed and now you are free. Free … free … free to love, to sing, to shout, to dance, pray and just be yourself. Thank you, Hashem. Where do you want us to go from here?

The Bal Shem Tov and the Rebbe Nachman taught us to raise everything up to a holy level. Hello, Transcendence!

Everything that you have and everything that is in front of you right now, you have the power to elevate and raise it up to a holy level. Do it and see what happens. If you are a holy people and you accept the assignment, what is there in your life that you want to raise to a holy heavenly level? Don't be timid.
