Home-Invasion Robbers Who Accosted Nanny Tracked And Arrested: LAPD
The armed robbers reportedly made of with $200,000 in goods, but police tracked and arrested four of the suspects, according to the LAPD.
SHERMAN OAKS, CA — A terrifying home-invasion robbery in the San Fernando Valley ended with the arrest of three suspects hours later in Compton Monday night.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the robbery crew broke into a house in the 15000 block of Greenleaf Street in Sherman Oaks at around 9 p.m. Monday. The robbers accosted a nanny and forced her into a bedroom, NBC Los Angeles reported.
The burglars stole approximately $200,000 worth of property from the Sherman Oaks residence, According to Fox 11.

However, they didn't make a clean getaway.
Some of the suspects were able to escape into the neighborhood while others piled into a car and headed south on the San Diego (405) Freeway to Compton.

Police were able to track the suspects to a home in the area of 152nd Street and Maie Avenue with the help of undercover officers and an LAPD helicopter.
However, the LAPD was tight-lipped about the exact methods used to track the suspects.
"We used department resources," said LAPD Officer Tony Im, adding that releasing specific details it would hinder the department's ability to protect residents from burglaries and home-invasion robberies.
Burglaries and robberies have become a major problem in Los Angeles, resulting in pressure to crack down on the organized crime rings.

Police Tuesday continued their search for members of the burglary crew. After arresting four suspects in Compton, officers searched the area for additional suspects who were able to escape into the neighborhood.
Investigators identified the suspects as 22-year-old Isaiah Rankins, 21- year-old Juan Carlos Gonzalez and 24-year-old Dion Hill, all residents of Los Angeles.
They were booked on suspicion of home invasion robbery with bail set at $175,000, including enhancements for previous burglaries and supervised probation for firearm possession.
According to police, all three suspects are on supervised release. LAPD's Commercial Crimes Division executed three search warrants Tuesday morning in Compton and two additional locations in South Los Angeles.
Investigators recovered property at the Compton residence connected to the Sherman Oaks home invasion robbery, linking the three suspects to the crime.
"The collaboration of the various enforcement and investigative entities from within the Los Angeles Police Department is what brought this case together," interim LAPD Chief Dominic Choi said.
"We will continue to utilize resources to address residential burglaries in Encino, West Los Angeles and any other Los Angeles neighborhood being targeted by criminals. While arresting these individuals is a step in the right direction, our work is not done."
