Hot Prowl Burglar Stabbed In Confrontation With Father And Daughter
Police say a man in his 20s tried to burglarize a home in the early morning hours in the San Fernando Valley but was caught by the residents
LOS ANGELES, CA — A 'hot prowl' burglar got more than he bargained for Friday morning when he tussled with a father and daughter in the Winnetka area.
The suspect was ultimately rushed to the hospital in stable condition after being stabbed by one of the residents, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Officers responded to reports of a burglary hot prowl around 4:12 a.m and found the bleeding burglary suspect outside a home on the 20100 block of Elkwood Street, said LAPD Officer David Cuellar.

"The suspect, described as a male Hispanic in his mid-20s, was confronted first by the adult daughter and then by the father," said Cuellar. "There was a physical altercation between the father and the suspect, which is when the father stabbed the suspect."
Police arrived on the scene and found the suspect nearby. He was rushed to a nearby hospital and faces potential charges, including burglary and battery, after he is medically cleared for booking, said Cuellar.

The terrifying ordeal is the latest in a series of home-invasion robberies plaguing the city. In several similar incidents, residents have fought back. In July, a Valley Village shot a robber in an early morning home-invasion, and a man in Tarzana set up 40 security cameras and staked out the neighborhood in order to ambush would-be burglars, shooting them with a paintball gun.
