Los Angeles Named 9th Best City For Baby Boomer Entrepreneurs

Lending Tree compiled a study analyzing the best cities for American entrepreneurs born between 1946 and 1964.

LOS ANGELES, CA -- A study released Tuesday by lending company, Lending Tree, found Los Angeles is the ninth best city for baby boomer entrepreneurs. To determine the best American cities for those born between 1946 and 1964, the company considered the average median business incomes and used the percentage of new businesses that were founded by baby boomers.

Lending Tree analysts found that Los Angeles "proves itself to be a solid place for boomers to take the leap into starting a business by faring above average in all three ranking factors."

"The median business of $12,091 and the average of $32,567 show that boomer entrepreneurs in Los Angeles are able to outearn their counterparts in other metro areas," the study stated. "The California city also ranks high in terms of the share of new boomer business founders, at 19.1 percent."

Topping the list of best cities for baby boomer entrepreneurs was San Jose followed by San Francisco.
