A Northridge mom sentenced last year to community service for driving her daughter around town as she painted Swastikas with maple syrup at two addresses has completed a mandatory 80 hours and is sticking around to contribute more time, according to the Daily News.
Deputy City Attorney Ayelet Feiman did quite a bit of research for a Jewish organization that was willing to take on Catharine Whelpley after she pleaded guilty in spring 2012.
But even with her sentence satisfied, Whelpley reportedly stayed on for a few more months at the Jewish Family Service’s SOVA Community Food and Resource Program.
“I was happy and surprised to find that not only did she complete (her community service) but she was a great addition to their organization,” Feiman told the Daily News Wednesday. “It was one of those cases where I felt that it had an impact on this particular defendant.”
