No-Contest Pleas in Romero Hit-and-Run Death

Dominique Rush is facing two years and eight months in state prison, while her father is facing up to a year in county jail.

A 23-year-old woman pleaded no contest Friday to charges stemming from a crash that killed a 17-year-old senior who was riding a bicycle in Canoga Park last April.

pleaded no contest to one felony count each of gross vehicular manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident, according to Deputy District Attorney Marcus Musante.

The charges stem from the April 20 crash that killed , who was riding a bicycle on DeSoto Avenue just north of Valerio Street at about 9 p.m.

Rush's father, , 45, pleaded no contest to one count of being an accessory after the fact, according to the prosecutor. Both father and daughter are from Porter Ranch.

The two are due back before Van Nuys Superior Court Judge Jessica Silvers for sentencing March 6.
