Northridge-Chatsworth Gas Price Drops for 33rd Straight Day

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gas in LA County has dropped for the 33rd straight day, decreasing 3 cents to to $5.34.

NORTHRIDGE-CHATSWORTH, CA -- The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 33rd consecutive day, decreasing 3.3 cents to $5.345.

The average price has dropped 97 cents over the past 33 days, including 2.2 cents Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The streak follows a run of 23 increases in 25 days totaling 91.8 cents.

The average price is 16.3 cents less than one week ago, 94.6 cents lower than one month ago and 25.5 cents cheaper than one year ago. It has dropped $1.149 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price dropped for the 34th consecutive day and 42nd time in 44 days, decreasing 1.6 cents to $3.462. It has dropped 41.9 cents over the past 44 days, including 1.6 cents Tuesday.

The national average price is 7.9 cents less than one week ago, 35.3 cents lower than one month ago and 29.6 cents cheaper than one year ago. It has dropped $1.554 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.

The run of dropping prices follows an 11-day streak of increases totaling 7.8 cents.
