Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Metrolink Train In Northridge
A pedestrian was fatally struck by a Metrolink train in Northridge early Monday morning.
NORTHRIDGE, CA — A pedestrian was fatally struck by a Metrolink train in Northridge early Monday morning, according to the transit agency.
The person, who has not been publicly identified, was hit by Ventura County Line train 100 just before 5:30 a.m. while in a "non- pedestrian area" between the Chatsworth and Northridge stations, just before 5:30 a.m., according to Metrolink.
Authorities responded to the area of the train tracks just south of the Northridge Fashion Center. The person was pronounced dead at the scene and an investigation is underway, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The southbound train was heading from Moorpark to Union Station. The 60 passengers aboard were provided with alternate transportation to their destinations. No other injuries were reported, Metrolink said.
Rail service was interrupted on the VC Line and for the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner. All service was restored just after 9:30 a.m.
