Person Killed In Car By Fallen Tree In Winnetka

WINNETKA, CA — One person was killed when a tree fell onto a pair of vehicles in Winnetka Friday afternoon.

Firefighters responded to Mason Avenue, near the intersection of Valerio Street, at around 3:30 p.m. Friday following a report of a tree that had fallen on two vehicles in the residential area, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

An occupant in one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, according to the LAFD.

Representatives from the Bureau of Street Services, Department of Transportation, Los Angeles Police Department and medical examiner's office were dispatched to the scene in response.
