SigAlert: Pileup Snarls Traffic For Miles On 5 and 405 Freeways
Side streets in the San Fernando Valley are also impacted by a multi-vehicle crash on the northbound 5 Freeway near the 405 and 210 freeways
LOS ANGELES, CA — A multi-vehicle crash on the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway in the Sylmar area has backed up traffic on multiple freeways and side streets in the San Fernando Valley.
The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert for the northbound5 Freeway where the pileup backed up traffic for miles Friday. The traffic jam is also affecting the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway near Rinaldi Street.
All northbound lanes on the 5 Freeway had been closed, but the California Highway Patrol said the carpool and two left lanes have just been reopened. The two right lanes are expected to remain blocked for another hour as of 11:30 a.m.
