Topanga Canyon Boulevard Caltrans Project To Include Overnight Closures

LOS ANGELES — The California Department of Transportation this week rescheduled plans to close a major thoroughfare in the western San Fernando Valley for overnight roadwork.
From Monday to April 5, there will be no overnight closures of Topanga Canyon Boulevard (State Route 27) in Chatsworth and Woodland Hills.
The work to construct bus pads along Topanga Canyon Boulevard will begin Monday, April 8when portions of the southbound lane will be closed Monday through Friday from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The lane will reopen at 6:00 a.m. each morning.

"Motorists should expect delays and are advised to use alternate routes during construction hours," Caltrans warned.
The construction will impact the following intersections of Topanga Canyon Boulevard:

· Southbound Plummer Street
· Southbound Prairie Street
· Southbound Nordhoff Street
· Southbound Gresham Street

· Southbound Strathern Street
Residents and businesses located near the freeway are advised to anticipate noise, vibrations, and dust associated with construction activities.
The work is part of a project to repave State Route 27 (SR-27) and upgrade curb ramps, pedestrian push buttons, and bus pads in the San Fernando Valley and through the unincorporated area of Topanga. The work zone spans more than 18 miles on SR-27 from Pacific Coast Highway to Devonshire Street in Chatsworth.
