LOS ANGELES, CA — Planned nighttime closures of Topanga Canyon Boulevard have been pushed back as Caltrans plans a construction project on the San Fernando Valley thoroughfare.

The closures will allow crews to install bus pads throughout the Valley, according to Caltrans.

No work will occur from April 3 through April 12. Portions of the southbound lane will be closed Monday through Friday from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning April 15. The lane will reopen at 6 a.m. each morning.

Residents and businesses located near the freeway are advised to anticipate noise, vibrations, and dust associated with construction activities.

The work is part of a project to repave State Route 27 (SR-27) and upgrade curb ramps, pedestrian push buttons, and bus pads in the San Fernando Valley and through the unincorporated area of Topanga. The work zone spans more than 18 miles on SR-27 from Pacific Coast Highway to Devonshire Street in Chatsworth.

The work comes as Topanga Canyon Boulevard remains closed in Topanga due to an ongoing landslide, frustrating residents and commuters who rely on the thoroughfare to travel between Pacific Coast Highway and the Valley.
