Volunteers Cleaning Communities (VCC) Presents at Notre Dame High

Topic: Environment and Respecting the Homeless

Thursday, September 16, Don Larson, Volunteers Cleaning Communities partner, presented to the 11th grade class at NOTRE DAME HIGH SCHOOL in Sherman Oaks on the topics of the ENVIRONMENT and the RESPECTING THE HOMELESS.

There were 35 students participating in this educational program involving a presentation and then activity that complimented the topics.

The students mounted a bus and went to VANALDEN Park for a bag lunch under the cool tree shade before proceeding to get geared up for picking up trash all the way into the NORTHRIDGE TRAIN STATION. A group rounded up 30 shopping carts that have accumulated from the homeless population, while others cleaned the grounds, riverbed area and around the wash. An environmental tune up, you could say.
