Woman Stabs Sister During Late-Night Haircut: Police
The woman is facing a charge of attempted murder stemming from the incident, police said.
SIMI VALLEY, CA — A Los Angeles County woman was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after she stabbed her sister, who was giving her a haircut, according to police.
The incident occurred on Tuesday in a suburban neighborhood on Katherine Road South in Simi Valley. At around 11:20 p.m., dispatchers received a report of a woman who had been stabbed in the neck, according to the Simi Valley Police Department.
Officers arrived at the home to find the victim suffering from a "serious neck wound," police said.

Officers rendered medical aid to the woman — who was not identified — and she was transported to a local hospital for treatment. She is expected to survive, police said.
Randy Mellin, of Acton — the victim's sister — was identified by police as the suspect, the SVPD said.

"Further investigation revealed that the victim had been giving Mellin a haircut inside the residence when, without provocation, Mellin broke a wine glass and stabbed the victim in the neck with the broken glass," police said.
Mellin was arrested and booked at the Ventura County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder, police said.
