Worker Fired Over Mistreatment of Dogs at Chatsworth's Animal Shelter
Technician accused of subjecting dogs to inhumane treatment while they were being euthanized.

A veterinary technician who was accused of subjecting dogs to inhumane treatment while they were being euthanized at the in Chatsworth has been fired, according to city officials.
The technician, who was employed at the shelter since 2007, "brought the dogs into a room with other dead animals and inserted euthanizing needles into their jugular veins—an unpermitted and bloody practice," according to the Associated Press.
"Department manager Brenda Barnette says it's unconscionable to terrify dogs that are about to be euthanized," the Associated Press reported.

The Animal Shelter recently participated in a drive to get 5,000 pets adopted in one month.
