Amy Wigton Band Goofs Off at Novato Festival Rehearsal

Amy Wigton shared this funny video on Thursday, and it's a great reminder to make plans for the Novato Festival of Art, Wine & Music this weekend. 

For the 29th consecutive year, Grant Avenue will will be transformed into a artists' haven, bustling bazaar, food court and "day club" (a nightclub under the sun) when the Novato Festival takes place June 9-10.

The event is presented by the  and serves as the biggest fundraiser of the year for the chamber. Interested in being a sponsor or volunteer? Track down the folks at the chamber.

Here is the music lineup, revealed by longtime music director Dennis Hagerty.

SATURDAY, JUNE 9

Main Stage (Grant & Redwood)

10-11:50 a.m.: NOVATO SONGBIRDS. Four female singer-songwriters from Novato perform: Lilan Kane, Natalie Smith, Keeley Valentino andLiv Gibson

12:10-1 p.m.: CHRIS TOWZEY. Novato native performs original rock and soul.

1:20-2:15 p.m.: VICTORIA GEORGE. Marin born and raised songwriter returns to the Novato stage.

2:35-3:40 p.m.: DANNY CLICK. Scorching guitar player/songwriter from Austin.

4–5:15 p.m.: CHUCK PROPHET & THE MISSION EXPRESS. San Francisco rocker and KFOG favorite performs songs from the new album “Temple Beautiful."  

5:45-7 p.m.: LYDIA PENSE & COLD BLOOD. Rhythm and blues, funk and soul with driving horns led by powerful singer Lydia Pense                   

Seventh Street Stage (Grant & Seventh)

10:30-11:25 a.m.: CARL OSER. Classic piano jazz from San Marin High graduate and current USC music standout.

11:45 a.m.-12:40 p.m.: POCKET CHANGE. Marin party band performs your  favorite '80s rock and soul.

1:10-2:05 p.m.: JOHNNY B. AND THE SPEEDSHIFTERS. Nostalgia Days stalwarts from Novato play classic rock.

2:30-3:30 p.m.: THE AMY WIGTON BAND. Hometown favorite plays original pop and rock.

4-5 p.m.: THE MUDDY ROSES. Heirloom country and blues featuring a smokin’ female vocal trio.

5:30-6:45 p.m.: GATOR BEAT. Cajun/Zydeco and New Orleans R&B from Sonoma.

SUNDAY, JUNE 10

Main Stage 

10-10:50 a.m.: NOVATO MILESTONES WIND ENSEMBLE. Hometown band performs Big Band, show tunes and marches – your Sunday morning wake up!

11:15 a.m.-12:10 p.m.– THE STRING RAYS: Fiddle, guitars and tight harmonies intertwine with Americana rock ‘n soul from Sonoma County.

12:30-1:20 p.m.: JAIME KYLE. Nashville singer-songwriter with Dave Jenkins and Steve Price (Pablo Cruise), Tal Morris (Huey Lewis & The News) and Taylor Cutcomb.

1:40-2:40 p.m.: KEVIN RUSSELL. Local scorching guitarist performs rock, R&B, soul and blues.

2:45-3:45 p.m.: CHROME JOHNSON. Unique brand of alt-country, rockabilly and rock & roll.

4:15-5:45 p.m.: MOONALICE. Variety of rock styles, improvisation and exploration.

10:30-11:25 a.m. — PROJECT MESSENGER. Original jazz from Novato featuring Kenneth Roy Berry.

11:50 a.m.-12:45 p.m.: MIRACLE MULE. Novato-based swampy tonk blues & country.  

1:10-2:05 p.m.: BREWNEL. Female-led Novato band plays blues and soulful rock.

2:30-3:30 p.m.: SUGARFOOT. Novato-based high energy band plays funk, soul and classic rock.
