Seniors are the fastest growing segment of California's population and are often the targets for manipulative scam artists. With fraudulent scams on the rise in California, Assemblyman Jared Huffman, D-San Rafael, and the Contractors State License Board are hosting four Senior Scam Stopper seminars in Marin County.
These seminars are a free and easy way to help educate seniors about scams involving finances, internet and telephone solicitations, insurance, home repair and improvements, landscaping and automotive repair. During each two-hour seminar, a panel of representatives from various government agencies will discuss some of the methods these scam artists utilize and how to avoid falling victim to scams.
