— I want to be the lead singer of a band!
— I need help with my college audition!
— Choir class is not enough ... I need more!
— I'm sick of getting drowned out by guitarists!
— I want to feel more comfortable when I sing in front of a crowd!
— I am an instrumentalist but I want to learn how to sing!
— I don't want to be in the spotlight, but I still want to perform!

The camp inspires young singers to challenge themselves and increase their musicianship through vocal and music education classes. Singers will learn about vocal technique, basic theory, ear training, improvisational ideas, microphone technique, communicating with the band, intros and outros, finding the right keys to songs and so much more.

Singers will participate in a master gospel choir, jazz choir and pop, rock, and R&B ensembles in which they will sing solos and backing vocals. Own the Mic also has master classes covering jazz improv, R&B runs and how to prepare for an audition, music theory, songwriting and more.
