Berg Sworn in as Police Chief
Veteran of force is the first to rise through the ranks to the top post.
Jim Berg, who rose through the ranks at the Novato Police Department over his 27-year career, was sworn in as chief of the force Tuesday before a session of the Novato City Council. The Marin Independent Journal was there to capture some shots.

Berg replaced Joseph Kreins, who retired and then took a temporary job as the chief of police in Vallejo.
