The House of Steel gym in San Rafael has been sending care packages to American troops in harms way for eight years. The efforts have been recognized with appreciation by the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Army.
The continued success of the mission needs the help of the community. A fundraiser is set for 5-9 p.m. Oct. 1 at the Marin Yacht Club, 24 Summit Ave., in San Rafael. A $25 donation includes music, dinner, dancing and plenty more. Current military recruits from Marin County will be introduced.
