Man Who Allegedly Stabbed Novato Woman Thinking She Was the Devil Will Plead Insanity
Rodney Hill, 37, is charged with second-degree murder for a January attack that left Novato resident Catherine "Kitty" Houghton dead.

The man accused of stabbing a Novato woman to death in the lobby of a New Hampshire hotel earlier this year will use a defense of insanity against the charges, according to the Caledonian Record newspaper in that state.
Vermont resident Rodney Hill, 37, allegedly tackled and stabbed Novato resident Catherine "Kitty" Houghton, 70, in January at the Hampton Inn in Littleton, N.H.
The attack appeared to be random, and Hill later told police he was Jesus and believed Houghton to be the devil or a manifestation of his father.
Hill's attorneys notified the court late last month the man would likely plead insanity, and a competency hearing has been set for Nov. 14, the Record reports.
That newspaper reported Hill was evaluated by a state psychologist earlier this year and "not competent but restorable."
