Marin To Honor Fallen Veterans At New Venue For Memorial Day Ceremony
Community members are invited to honor fallen servicemembers during a ceremony on May 27 in San Rafael.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — Marin County's annual ceremony to honor fallen servicemembers will take place later this month at a new venue, officials announced this week.
Local veterans organizations will host community members at the Marin County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall, due to ongoing construction work at the Civic Center complex where the event usually takes place. Though repaving is underway at the Veterans' Memorial Auditorium lot, organizers said plenty of parking will be available behind the auditorium at 20 Avenue of the Flags.

A color guard and flag raisers will follow the performance, joined by local elected officials and local veterans who will be recognized.
Mike McCarron, a former Navy flight officer and retired captain, will serve as the guest speaker. The ceremony will conclude with the laying of ceremonial wreaths and the playing of "Taps."
