Motorcyclist Dies in Crash West of Novato

A motorcyclist from Suisun City died Wednesday afternoon in a crash on Marshall-Petaluma Road at Wilson Hill Road in west Marin County this afternoon, a California Highway Patrol sergeant said.

CHP Sgt. John Carman said the Marin County coroner's office was called to the site about seven miles west of Novato at about 1:30 p.m. A CHP report sent later in the afternoon said the victim was a 51-year-old man from Suisun City who has not been identified pending the notification of family.

The accident was reported at 12:40 p.m. and initially shut down the entire roadway. One lane had reopened as of 2:20 p.m., Carman said.

The CHP said the weather was cool, clear and dry at the time of the crash.
