New Local Brewery Will Host Party With Beer Pong Tournament In Marin County

NOVATO, CA — A recently launched local brewery will host a party Saturday in Novato to officially launch their brand and there will be a beer pong tournament to celebrate the opening.

The Keg Stand Brewing Company will host this brand launch party from noon to 9 p.m. on Saturday.

What started in 2021 as a side hustle to escape the nine-to-five grind, quickly turned into a full-blown mission for owner Jacob Gullett.

He always enjoyed visiting local breweries and hitting up the local food trucks, which sparked an idea instead of a food truck he created a "beer truck," or a trailer really.

After home brewing for seven to eight years, the minds behind the Keg Stand wanted to focus on working with local home brew clubs in addition to the local breweries to serve the freshest beer at all types of events throughout Northern California.

"For us, we want to focus on brining some not-so-common or trendy beers to the taps," Gullett told Patch. "We will always have our four to five flagships beers but we want to work with local home brewers to come up with some unique recipes and involve them in a lot that we do."

Fueled by the love for beer and a relentless drive to break free from the rat race, they picked up a small, worn down trailer, fixed it up a little, and turned it into what became "The Keg Stand" Mobile Bar.

Now they have taken the next step to open a brick and mortar location, The Keg Stand Brewing Company, located at 1016 Railroad Ave. in Novato, which opened on Aug. 8.

All beers are made in small one to five barrel batches, allowing them to keep things fresh and exciting. They try to keep favorites on tap, but the small batches let them experiment with fun flavors and local ingredients you won't find anywhere else.

They also still have the two mobile bar trailers that they use or rent out for all types of events.
