Novato Bell Ringing Competition Raises $2.2K
Police officers and firefighters helped the Salvation Army raise more than $2,000 during the annual holiday event.

NOVATO, CA — An annual bell-ringing competition between Novato's police and fire departments raised more than $2,250 for the Salvation Army of San Rafael, surpassing the previous year's total by $625, the department said Thursday.
The friendly face-off happened last weekend at Pacheco Plaza, and this year the Novato Fire Department went for gold.
"Although we are a little bummed we didn't take home the 'W' this year, we would like to officially congratulate Novato Fire as our new Bell Ringing Champions for 2023," the Novato Police Department posted Thursday on social media. "A special thank you to Pacheco Plaza, Marin Coffee Roasters, and everyone at the Salvation Army who made this wonderful event happen! We could not have done it without everyone's amazing partnership."
