NOVATO, CA — Novato Police Department employees are getting a raise.
The City Council has approved a 1.5 percent pay boost for NPD staffers in an effort to boost morale and reduce turnover, The Marin Independent Journal reports.
The raise follows an exodus of staffers and sworn officers in particular in recent years, with close to three dozen Novato cops leaving the department for more lucrative opportunities in other agencies or the private sector, the report said.
