Overnight Eastbound Closures Begin Monday On Novato Creek Bridge
Drilling work to help plan the foundation of a new bridge will require four overnight closures next week.
NOVATO, CA — Preliminary work for the Novato Creek Bridge replacement project will require a full eastbound closure along a stretch of State Route 37 over four nights next week, according to Caltrans.
The evening work will allow crews to resume exploratory drilling to determine the exact requirements for the foundation needed to support a new bridge.

The eastbound closure will be in place Monday through Thursday, starting at 9 p.m. and ending at 5 a.m. each of the following mornings. During that time, drivers can use the U.S. 101 off-ramp to detour onto Atherton Avenue and rejoin State Route 37 at Black Point.

According to Caltrans, the bridge replacement will help reduce stormwater flooding and adapt to the projected 2130 sea-level rise. The first phase of construction on the new bridge is scheduled to begin in 2027.
