Photo Of The Day: Rare ‘Rainbow’ Cloud Hovers Over Novato

NOVATO, CA — Patch reader Isaac Poe captured this photo of a rare “rainbow” cloud hovering over Novato early Friday afternoon.

Rainbow, or iridescent clouds produce punchy colors that are formed by sunlight diffracting off water droplets in the atmosphere according to National Geographic.
