Pilot Killed In Fiery Crash At Novato Airport: Police
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the incident.
NOVATO, CA β A pilot was killed in a fiery crash Saturday in Novato, according to authorities.
An Aero Commander 200D plane struck a hangar shortly after taking off from Gnoss Field Airport around 3:50 p.m., according to the National Transportation Safety Board, which is investigating the incident.
The pilot, who was the only person on board, died, according to the Marin County Sheriffβs Office.

Scott Manley landed at the airport shortly before the collision and captured the flames and massive plumes of smoke on camera, sharing his photos on X.
βI parked the plane, climbed out and as I turned I saw the crash, and the post impact fireball," Manley wrote in a post on X, describing the βwall of fireβ created by the incident.
