Sometimes it's a Good Thing When a Child Yells 'Let Go!'
The following information from Sept. 10-11 was supplied by the Novato Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.
The Headliner:
7 p.m., Sept. 11 — A resident of Laguna Vista Drive reported hearing a child yell "let me go, let me go!" The reporting party checked outside and didn't see anybody. Officers found that a father was teaching his daughter how to ride a bike.

7:21 a.m. — A person who appeared to be homeless was sitting on a bench facing Lee Gerner Park and staring into the window of a dentists' office in the 1700 block of Novato Boulevard. An employee said he was making patients nervous. No violations were observed.
7:57 a.m. — A spot on Rowland Boulevard was hosed down after a small chlorine spill.

9:09 a.m. — An ongoing dispute between Mildenhall Street neighbors regarding uncontrolled cats continued with more accusations and hostility. The situation was mediated and possibly resolved.
2:00 p.m. — Someone at San Marin High School reported a "creepy dude" in his mid-50s driving a red car, possibly a Honda Civic, around the school during the lunch hour for the second day in a row. He is heavy-set and has a "messed-up nose." Extra patrols were made in the area.
3:46 p.m. — A resident of Fourth Street said a neighbor shot a crossbow arrow through his window and it is sticking in the wall. The resident believes it was an accident but documentation is requested. The neighbor was contacted and said it was an accident. She agreed to pay for damages.
7:14 p.m. — A Ranch Drive resident said someone has fraudulently accessed his checking account and is paying for a car loan. The fraud dates back to July 2011.
7:22 p.m. — Kids have set up a bike ramp in the street at the intersection of Hill Road and Bird Court and they have almost been hit by two cars. The kids and ramp were gone on officer arrival.
6:36 p.m. — The ongoing dispute between Mildenhall Street neighbors regarding uncontrolled cats continued with a report that one party is being harassed by the other party. The alleged harasser is giving hand gestures and laughing from a driveway. There was no evidence of criminal activity. Advice was given about restraining orders.
7:34 p.m. — A resident of Acacia Court said his son took the reporting party's car without permission. The son was angry and heading to the city. The case was taken and the son was booked on suspicion of auto theft and receiving stolen property.
10:08 p.m. — A parent on San Felipe Way said a son is out of control, yelling and screaming in his room because the parent would not fix the Internet connection. The son is on probation and has a lot of problems. The son was admonished and advice and resources were given to the parent.
Sept. 11
12:39 a.m. — A fight between a group of men was reported on Romar Court. The victim does not want to press charges.
1:28 a.m. — An ex-boyfriend reportedly smashed the windshield of a car on Maria Loreto Court. An extra patrol of the area was requested but nothing unusual was seen.
8:12 a.m. — A woman in tears says she is out of her psych meds. She was transported to the hospital.
9:24 a.m. — Someone found a wallet near Ignacio Boulevard and Fairway Drive. It was returned to its owner with contents intact.
12:33 p.m. — Suspicious subjects were reported "casing residences" near Knolltop Court and Robinhood Drive. A man was seen looking into mailboxes. The people were gone on officer arrival.
2:35 p.m. — A resident of Kaden Court reported fraudulent use of his credit card in Fresno.
2:43 p.m. — A woman said she was hit in the eye while at "the pit" off Seventh Street. An assault case was taken but the victim did not want to cooperate with providing additional information.
3:25 p.m. — A noninjury collision was reported at Novato Boulevard and Fawn Court. One driver was cited.
4:15 p.m. — A man attempted to cash a counterfeit check at a check cashing business on Grant Avenue.
4:16 p.m. — A woman at the bus pad in the 7300 block of Redwood Boulevard asked a group to stop smoking marijuana. A girl knocked a phone out of her hand and a boy is now following her around. Officers admonished the suspects and advice was given. The woman declined to press charges.
4:41 p.m. — Kids have set up a bike ramp in the street on Bird Court and they are making people drive around them. One kid was contacted along with grandparents. The kids were advised to keep the ramp on the right side of the roadway near the sidewalk.
4:44 p.m. — A resident of Wood Hollow Drive said two fraudulent checking accounts have been opened in his name. His identity was stolen two years ago.
9:17 p.m. — A woman in the process of separating from her husband said he has been making threats and accusing her of child abuse at their home on San Marin Drive. Threats include harm to the dog. Officers determined there was no merit to the threats. The man said he would call police if the woman didn't feed dinner to their 13-year-old son. The parties were advised to seek help from a family law specialist.
