Weekday Bike Path Closures Planned Between Novato & Petaluma
Caltrans work will require a stretch of the path to close each workday until early September.

NOVATO, CA — Caltrans is planning weekly closures of the bike path near U.S. 101 as crews install scour protections along a bridge. The path near San Antonio Road, which runs under the highway between Novato and Petaluma, will be closed during working hours until the project is completed in early September.
Cyclists will not have access to that stretch of the path between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, but will be able to use the full route on weekends.
Here's the detour route from Caltrans:

"For bicyclists heading southbound towards Novato, the alternative route is to access Petaluma Blvd to D Street to San Antonio Rd. where bicyclists can access the path at Olompali State Park, while those heading northbound towards Petaluma will need to go westbound on San Antonio Rd, then take D Street to Petaluma Blvd."
