When Being Lazy Seems Like a Crime
The following information from Sept. 17-18 was supplied by the Novato Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

The Headliner:
9:59 p.m., Sept. 18 — A verbal disturbance was reported at Hill Road and Diablo Avenue. One friend accused the other of being "too lazy to jog" while out for a run.

12:20 a.m. — A woman on Oliva Drive said her husband texted her that he wanted to kill her. She is upset because she confronted his mistress. The husband stated he did not mean to threaten his wife. Advice was given.
7:53 a.m. — A burglary was reported from school district property in the 1400 block of Johnson Street. The reporting party says equipment was taken over the weekend.

8:21 a.m. — A suspicious man was reported sitting in an SUV at the corner of Mill Road and Trumbull Avenue. An officer contacted the man, who said he was just waiting for his walking partner.
9:16 a.m. — Gang-related graffiti was reported on playground equipment at a park on Fifth Street.
9:40 a.m. — A TV was missing from a storage unit on Commercial Boulevard.
10:35 a.m. — A hit-and-run collision from Sept. 14 was reported at the downtown Safeway. A witness left a note with suspect vehicle information.
11:42 a.m. — A car was stolen from a locked garage on Hector Lane.
1:42 p.m. — A female student at San Marin High School said a male student slapped her in the back of the head and called her a derogatory ethnic name. The boy was cited for assault.
1:57 p.m. — A woman was heard yelling "I am sorry" on Carnoustie Heights Drive. A male voice was heard yelling as well. Officers found the residents were having a religious gathering.
2:41 p.m. — Teens gathered in a parking lot in the 1500 block of Center Road threatened to kill, rob and beat the reporting party. The reporting party left the area.
3:50 p.m. — An 85-year-old man was bitten by a dog and took a fall on Montura Way. Clothes were ripped but skin was not broken. It appeared to be a territorial issue of a dog protecting children from a passer-by.
3:52 p.m. — A woman in the 1500 block of South Novato Boulevard was suspected of embezzling money from her employer.
5:37 p.m. — Two white men wearing camouflage pants took 3D glasses from the Radio Shack store on Diablo Avenue. They were last seen running toward South Novato Boulevard.
7:09 p.m. — A woman reported a hit-and-run at First Street and Vallejo Avenue. She said a white Jeep struck the back of her vehicle and then left the area.
10:46 p.m. — Someone reported people fighting in a parking lot in the 5600 block of Nave Drive. One person was arrested.
11:14 p.m. — A fight between two restaurant patrons was reported on Novato Boulevard. One person had a gash on the eye. Advice was given to both parties.
Sept. 18
2:24 a.m. — A juvenile suffered a leg injury when hit by a truck while trying to cross a street.
8 a.m. — A traffic incident was reported in front of Lu Sutton Elementary School. A child who does not attend the school suffered a minor injury and was helped by a crossing guard.
8:31 a.m. — Someone from out of town who bought a Porsche engine over the Internet from a party from Novato believes he has been defrauded.
10:58 a.m. — A noninjury collision between a black Ford Fiesta and a white Toyota Corolla was reported in the 7500 block of Redwood Boulevard.
1:55 p.m. — A student at Novato High School was sent to juvenile hall for bringing a folding knife onto campus.
5:09 p.m. — Fencing was reported stolen on Almond Court.
5:44 p.m. — Four people are running up to cars that are passing by and passing something back and forth on Loleta Lane. The reporting party believes it is a drug deal.
