OCEANSIDE, CA — Two people were rescued from a sailboat off Harbor Beach in Oceanside, authorities said.
Oceanside firefighters and lifeguards responded at 6:11 p.m. Friday to a 38-foot sailboat that was caught in the surf line while attempting to enter Oceanside Harbor, according to the Oceanside Fire Department.
"The vessel encountered large breaking waves near the entrance, which quickly pushed it into the surf zone in front of Harbor Beach, placing both occupants in immediate danger," Oceanside Fire Department Battalion Chief Jeremy Brandt said.
