5 Things: Female Pro Surfing, Meet Bethany Hamilton and Ruby's Discount

Oceanside and Camp Pendleton residents should know these 5 Things this week:

1. Temperatures will be in the high 60s and low 70s and skies will be partly cloudy, according to Weather.com. 
2. Oceanside will be host to the largest women's surfing event in the world. It will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the pier (details).
3. Ruby’s Diner celebrates its namesake’s 91st birthday Monday by offering its new NEXT GEN burger for $3.10. The new menu item features USDA Choice beef, lettuce, tomato, raw or grilled onions, a new freshly grilled artisan bun and a new sauce. After Monday, the NEXT GEN burger will sell for $7.99 at all Southern California locations for a limited time. Ruby's Diner is at the end of OCeanside Pier. 
   
4. Professional surfer Bethany Hamilton will greet fans at Hansen Surfboards 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at 1105 S. Coast Highway, Encinitas.
