County Opens New Crisis Stabilization Unit in Oceanside: VIDEO

The new San Diego County facility will offer intervention and stabilization for anyone suffering from a behavioral or mental health crisis.

OCEANSIDE, CA — A ribbon-cutting ceremony in Oceanside on Monday marks the latest milestone in the County of San Diego’s commitment to prioritizing mental health and substance use services.

According to a news release from the County of San Diego Communications Office, the new community-based Crisis Stabilization Unit will open its doors next week, becoming the sixth CSU in the county with plans for even more in east and south San Diego.

County Supervisors Nathan Fletcher and Jim Desmond were on hand with Oceanside Mayor Esther Sanchez and other local officials for the opening ceremony.

The 24-hour, 7-day a week, walk-in facility is based on a living room model and offers a kinder, gentler approach to intervention and stabilization for anyone suffering from a behavioral or mental health crisis.

The Oceanside CSU is located inside the County Live Well Center at 1730 Mission Avenue, Suite 130, Oceanside, CA 92058.
