Dickey's Barbecue Pit To Celebrate Grand Opening Of New North County Location

The event will feature barbecue food, deals and giveaways, including a grand prize drawing for a family four pack to Disneyland.

SAN MARCOS, CA — Dickey's Barbecue Pit is firing up the smokers and opening its doors Friday with a grand opening celebration for the chain's new location in San Diego's North County.

The all-day event will take place from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the new restaurant in San Marcos. The event will feature barbecue food, deals and giveaways, including a grand prize drawing for a family four pack to Disneyland.

"Bringing Dickey's to San Marcos is an exciting opportunity to serve our community with the best in slow-smoked barbecue," franchisee Liz Bolton said. "We can't wait to welcome our guests and show them what makes Dickey's a family favorite."

The event will begin with a ribbon cutting with the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce. There will be a live remote broadcast from KSON's midday host Greg, who will be onsite from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a ticket giveaway for Kelsea Ballerini's March 22 concert at Pechanga Arena in San Diego.

In addition, kids can eat free all day while first responders and military members can get 50% off. The restaurant will also offer $2 pulled pork sandwiches from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., as well as BOGO pulled pork sandwiches from 1 p.m. to close. There will also be face painting for kids starting at 4 p.m.

"San Marcos is the perfect location for Dickey's Barbecue Pit because of its strong sense of community, growing population, and love for authentic, slow-smoked barbecue," Dickey's Barbecue Pit spokesperson Louisa Garrett told Patch. "Its vibrant dining scene and family-friendly atmosphere align perfectly with Dickey's commitment to quality food and Southern hospitality."

Founded in 1941 by The Dickey Family, Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. continues as a third-generation family-run business. The company has more than 866 restaurants across eight concepts in the U.S. and several countries.

The chain has two other locations in the San Diego area, including one in El Cajon at 2959 Jamacha Road and another in San Diego at 5604 Balboa Ave.

"While there are no immediate plans, there is certainly hope for future expansion into the San Diego area as we continue to look for opportunities to bring Legit. Texas. Barbecue. to more guests," Garrett said.

Dickey's Barbecue Pit in San Marcos is located at 344 S Twin Oaks Valley Road. The eatery will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
