Forecasters Warn Of 'Dangerous' Beach Conditions For Oceanside

OCEANSIDE, CA — A pair of cold winter storms are expected to bring rain, mountain snow and gusty winds this week to Southern California, prompting another high surf advisory for San Diego County beaches, including in Oceanside.

The first storm is expected to arrive Wednesday, while another storm system is predicted for this weekend, according to the National Weather Service. A high surf advisory will be in effect from 3 p.m. Wednesday to 10 p.m. Thursday for the county's coastal areas.

Forecasters warned of dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. Weather officials said inexperienced swimmers should stay out of the water for the duration of the advisory.
