November is an event-filled month at the Oceanside Museum of Art starting Friday with Music At The Museum featuring The Sea Monks.

OCEANSIDE, CA — The Oceanside Museum of Art has an exciting November planned. Enjoy live music at the museum, paint en plein air, experience the intersection of art and fashion, take a bite out of a brand-new mouthwatering exhibition, and celebrate OMA’s latest exhibitions.

November Events Happening at Oceanside Museum of Art

MUSIC AT THE MUSEUM WITH SEA MONKS
Explore OMA's exhibitions for free starting at 5:00 p.m. and stay for the free concert beginning at 6:30 p.m. as Oceanside’s First Friday Art Walk extends into the night with the rockabilly and blues music of The Sea Monks. Capacity is limited and admission to the performance is free, but guests are encouraged to reserve a ticket ahead of time along with the option to reserve a VIP table for four. The evening will also feature a bar with the option to purchase your drink tickets ahead of time online for beer, wine, or premium wine by the glass.

PLEIN AIR PAINT OUT AT THE LAGOON
Open to artists at any level, join OMA’s Artist Alliance for this non-instructed opportunity to paint en plein air with peers to capture views of the lagoon at the intersection of Jefferson Street and the Highway 78 on-ramp in Oceanside. Tune into Coffee and Conversation the following day, November 7 from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m., and share your work with Artist Alliance members over a cup of coffee.

TASTE OF ART: ART, MUSIC, FASHION!
Experience the intersection of three art forms that influence our everyday lives at OMA. Join instructor Robin Douglas for an exciting look at the special relationship art, music and fashion have had through the ages, producing some of the world’s most evocative works of art and designs. Create your own work of art in a variety of media inspired by great music and the genre-bending work of Marty Ornish and Saki, the co-winners of last year’s Night of The Living Art: An Art After Dark Fashion Extravaganza. Refreshments and all supplies for your original artwork will be provided.

EXHIBITION CELEBRATION
Join the OMA team and fellow art lovers for an evening celebrating four of the museum’s newest exhibitions, MartyO: Social Security, Saki: Birds of a Different Feather, Beata Mierzwa: Beauty of Science, and Duke Windsor: Nothing’s Impossible. Enjoy an evening filled with refreshments while exploring what’s new at OMA this season and connecting with the many artists that fill the museum with creativity and outstanding vision.

DUKE WINDSOR: BURGER SERIES
This mouth-watering exhibition explores the emotional connection we have with food through art through a true American icon…the burger. Duke Windsor explores how you can illicit other senses through art and with just a picture we can imagine the smell and taste of our favorite burger. There is art in creating the perfect burger and perfect bite, and that is something that is captured through this exhibition. Duke uses gold leaf throughout each of the paintings to pay tribute to the delectable burger and create a luminance.
