OCEANSIDE BUSINESS SPOTLIGHTS

The Green Room Hotel, a new boutique hotel, recently opened at 2020 South Coast Hwy. in the “South O” neighborhood. Owners Steve and Brett happened upon this funky and (mostly) forgotten 1961 motel as they’d go between Carlsbad and Oceanside depending on the surf or the date night spot.

This boutique hotel is a sacred nod to the surf and sound subcultures of Southern California from generations past and present. The hotel was fully renovated before opening in the summer of 2021. Twelve guest suites are uniquely done with bohemian accents and plush interiors.
