Oceanside Grant Program for Small Businesses Impacted by COVID-19

OCEANSIDE, CA — The City is partnering with the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce and MainStreet Oceanside to manage a grant program that will award grants ranging from $1,000 to $7,500 to small businesses impacted by COVID-19. Grant amounts will be determined based on an objective system that measures the financial impact of COVID-19 on the business. The application period is now open and will close on November 19, 2021. Grant awards are anticipated to be distributed in December 2021.

On March 11, 2021, the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) was signed into law, allocating $32.3 million of Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds to the City of Oceanside. As part of its ARPA spending plan, the Oceanside City Council approved $300,000 to be used for grants to local small businesses negatively impacted by COVID-19.

“The American Rescue Plan Act provides much-needed funding for Oceanside’s COVID-19 recovery efforts,” said Mayor Esther Sanchez. “Many of our small businesses are still struggling, and this grant program is part of the City’s continued efforts to ensure our business community remains strong and resilient.”

Nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply. Additionally, a grant program designed specifically for nonprofit organizations is in development and will be launching soon.
