OCEANSIDE, CA — A nationwide "challenge" on the social media app TikTok warned of potential school violence Friday, prompting school districts across California to take precautions.
In response to the potential threats, the Oceanside Police released the following statement on Twitter.
The Oceanside Police Department is aware of nationwide social media posts referencing school shootings. While there are no substantiated threats specific to Oceanside at this time, OPD will provide an increased presence at schools to put parents, students, and staff at ease.
