Oceanside's Dija Mara Michelin-Recognized For Affordable Eats

A delicious dining experience at a reasonable price is the point of Michelin's Bib Gourmand list, with 45 new eateries added in 2021.

OCEANSIDE, CA — The 2021 Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand list for California was announced last week with 45 restaurants added.

Newly added to the list was Dija Mara on the Coast Hwy in Oceanside. The Michelin Guide had this to say about the Balinese-inspired restaurant, "You’ll find some serious Indonesian cooking here. Excellent nasi goreng combines fried rice with shrimp, pork belly, chicken and the yolk of a sunny egg, while charred eggplant with smoked tomato sambal and crispy fried shallots is a textural and flavor-forward delight."

If you are not familiar with this list, it is intended to provide exceptional dining options without breaking the budget. Bib Gourmand "restaurants offer a full menu of a starter, main course and dessert, making it possible to order two courses and a glass of wine or dessert for around $40 or less (tax and gratuity not included)."
