Pedestrian Fatally Struck By SUV In Oceanside

OCEANSIDE, CA — A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle Monday in Oceanside, authorities said.

The victim was struck around 6:45 p.m. by an eastbound Chevrolet Tahoe near the intersection of Mission Avenue and Francesca Drive, according to the Oceanside Police Department.

The pedestrian died at the scene of the accident, police said. His name was withheld pending family notification.

Drugs and alcohol were not believed to be factors in the collision, police said.
